9/27/2017 4 Comments San Francisco - Day 2Awake the next morning at 5:30am, we lazed around until the sun was up (basically waiting until something was open) before setting off in search of those well-known light breakfast treats…doughnuts (when in Rome and all that jazz). Just as well we were up and out nice and early (before it got ridiculously hot) because has anyone ever mentioned to you that San Francisco is hilly? I mean seriously hilly, pack trainers or enjoy nursing blistered feet and getting cabs everywhere.

9/24/2017 8 Comments Cali Road Trip - San FranciscoAfter years of thinking about it, I finally got round to planning a US road trip this year. The trip was a little over two weeks, heading down the west coast to LA, over to Palm Springs and ending in Vegas. So earlier this month, we packed our bags, bid goodbye to a grey London and boarded a plane bound for San Francisco. Armed with jeans and light jumpers, we arrived early afternoon ready for the cool San Francisco temperatures that everyone (and I mean everyone, every weather site, every blogger, everyone I know that has been) had warned us about. Cue a record breaking heat wave (we’re talking 100+ Fahrenheit people) and two extremely over dressed and perspiring Brits. Making the most of the heat (and attempting not to melt), I donned a hat, grabbed an Uber and we headed to our hotel. Using Uber was handy during our trip, just be sure to pay attention to the pick-up/drop off points at the airports to avoid dragging your bags around arrivals like we did...  Ok, clearly I am massively late to the blogging party. So really, the question of if not me then who is more than a little pointless (and majorly inaccurate), but allow me some poetic license on the post title here, what with it being my first one and all.
Having played around with the idea of blogging for a while but never having the time or balls to start (minus one tumblr page under the same moniker, started and swiftly abandoned years ago), I figured now is as good a time as any to get my overshare on and start blogging. Forever a believer that if you want something you need to go get it, I'm finally sticking pen to paper (or rather fingers to keyboard) and sharing my slice of daily life with you, whoever you may be. So stay put and let's see where the weather takes us...(first stop, a California road trip). p.s. my name is Misty, hence the reference to a weather girl in the blog title. It isn't short for anything or a nickname, it is my real name and no I am not a Pokemon or a stripper. Both would be considerably more interesting than my actual day job. WG x |
